October 29: SikkertNOK 2015
The SikkertNOK annual conference for awareness raising on cyber and information security will be held in Gjøvik University College, on the 29th October 2015. This is the fifth year of the conference and this time it is jointly organised by CCIS and NorSIS. The focus of SikkertNOK 2015 is on cyber security, with an emphasis on the relevant topics from the current threats scenario.
Several cyber security topics will be discussed from the point of view of the government, enterprise and the consumer. Also the conference will review new approaches to reduce the society’s vulnerability to cyber crimes and cyber attacks and how to increase the resilience of our systems.
Keynote addresses will be delivered by Vidar Helgessen, Minister at the Office of the Norwegian Prime Minister and responsible for the EEA and EU in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Major General Odd Egil Pedersen, Chief of Cyber Defence of the Norwegian Armed Forces. Minister Helgessen will speak on Information Security – the European agenda; and Major General Pedersen will have a presentation on Security culture built on awareness and knowledge – a prerequisite for a secure society. Ms. Francesca Bosco, Project officer, United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) will hold a presentation on Insecure Cyberspace: Today’s Cyber Threats.
Other speakers to the conference include Prof. Hannes Lubich, from the University of Applied Sciences North West Switzerland (FHNW), who will have a presentation on Protecting Client Data – Lessons Learned by the Swiss Financial; Mrs. Margrete Raaum, CEO KraftCERT and Chairman of Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) giving a presentation on Being a Doomsday Prepper – Incident Readiness and Handling in the Energy Sector; Tore Orderløkken, VP Security, Quality, and Risk Management at Evry Norway, former CEO of NorSIS, who has chosen the topic: Security – compliance and control – Do we have that? and Prof. Patrick Bours, from Gjøvik University College, that will make a presentation with the title Biometrics at CCIS – Forefront of information Security.
It is expected an audience of around 200 participants from the government and the private sector, primarily at management and executive level from Norway.
